Instinct kicked in for Officer Hurst (a father of two). He asked the medical staff at the hospital if he could hold the child and try to soothe him. The hospital staff agreed. Officer Hurst gently held the little boy against him and the child calmed down. It was not long before the frightened little boy had fallen asleep on Officer Hurst’s chest. The officer stayed with the little boy for nearly 2 hours. What an incredible police officer! He went above and beyond the call of duty for this little boy.
